Paul Devoux aka Gangxta Rid has died due to covid 19.
In 1993 Faith No More collaborated with the Samoan rap outfit Boo Yaa T.R.I.B.E on the song Another Body Murdered, which was released as a single from the Judgment Night movie soundtrack.
"We didn’t know the Boo-Yaa guys before we did the collaboration…in fact, we met at the studio. They were all great musicians in their own right, and what was surprising is that we clicked immediately on a musical level." - Bill Gould 2018
On Saturday December 5th the sad news that Gangxta Rid had lost his life due to coronavirus was shared by fellow rap artist and friend Ice T. “I just woke up to the terrible news.. My very close homie ‘Gangsta Rid’ of Boo-Yaa Tribe passed away yesterday from Covid,” he tweeted. “So sad. My love and condolences go out to the family.”
Shortly after Bill , Mike Patton and FNM’s official social media shared words of respect for the rapper. "It might be a long time ago, but our time with you still brings back many happy memories. RIP Ridd."
This tragedy comes only two years after the Devoux family and Boo Yaa Tribe lost Ted “Godfather” Devoux who passed away at 55. Bill payed tribute.
Our thoughts are with their family and friends.
